I agree with Paul. Why did they have to synthesize the sounds of the handbells? It was the first thing we noticed when they started playing. Heck, they should have just taken the audio from the Hershey Kisses commercial. =)
Yay for handbells on mainstream, but boo for the way they were presented.

Hey Dean!

Thanks for saying my bells were in good shape for their age. It probably helped that they spent about 10 of their years in a closet before someone rescued them a few years back. I thought they would be in bad enough condition for you to laugh and point, so this is a good thing!

And don't worry about using my last name -- Handbell Podcast is a multiple-Sharon outfit so it's good to make subtle distinctions. Cuz I'm all about the subtle...

Thanks for playing Reunir, one of my all-time favorites. Got me emotional on a Thursday morning.

Love those parallel 2nd inversion 7th chords in the A-section! Genius. The V7 - VII - V7 progression in the middle section always gives me chills.

The first time I played this was actually in a massed ring...Ft. Worth National Festival...what was the year, 1992? 1995? Something like that.

As one of the ringers in the massed choir along with some of my ringers at church, thank you for your glowing portrayal of our ringing. In addition, this is my first time at one of the International Handbell Symposiums, and I so want to be at the next one and the one after that. I certainly hope some of our publishers will carry some of Kazuko Okamoto's music. She is extremely talented and in fact was in that massed ringing as well (ringing in the group right next to us).
